David John Baker
David John Baker is a PhD student in Music Theory with a minor in Cognitive and Brain Sciences at Louisiana State University. He currently works in the Music Cognition and Computation Lab with Dr. Daniel Shanahan and Dr. Emily Elliott investigating how musical perception can be influenced by both musical structures as well as individual differences. Prior to LSU, he spent two years with the Music, Mind and Brain group at Goldsmiths, University of London earning a MSc. and also working in the Psychology department. Additionally, he holds a Bachelors of Music from Baldwin Wallace University where he studied under members of The Cleveland Orchestra. His work has been funded by both the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council, as well as by both the music and psychology departments at Louisiana State University.
