Norberto Grzywacz

Dean of the Graduate of Arts and Sciences, Professor of Physics and Neuroscience, Georgetown University

Dr. Norberto Grzywacz is the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Georgetown University.  He is also Professor of Physics and Neuroscience.  Previously, Dr. Grzywacz served as the Dwight C. and Hildagarde E. Baum Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Southern California (USC).  In addition, he was Professor of Biomedical and Electrical Engineering, and Neuroscience while at USC.  He studies the brain’s visual system with multiple experimental and theoretical tools, including electrophysiology, psychophysics, brain imaging, and mathematical and computational modeling.  Some of his current research projects include neuroesthetics of art, optimal processing principles for visual function and perception, and encoding a decoding of visual information.
