After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, from the University of Coimbra in Portugal, he went to Exeter University, United Kingdom, for his Master’s degree in Sports Medicine. Having an interest in physiology, in general, he participated in the 17th IAA Humans in Space Symposium where he met his future Ph.D. supervisor, Prof. Dr. Lochmann who invited him to do a Ph.D. focused in Exercise Neuroscience at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.
Pedro intended to measure the brain’s source activity of stroke patients during movement using EEG, motion capture, EMG, and force plates. This proved a challenge because methods at the time were not sufficiently developed to easily allow such measurements. Thus, Pedro dedicated himself to implementing, testing and developing MoBi methodologies. For that, he was awarded a Ph.D. Research Fellowship by the Bavarian Research Foundation.
During this time he attained a motivation towards technology and measurement methods. Therefore, after finishing his Ph.D. in February 2017, he joined Brain Products technical support department where he is since March. Now he supports the company’s clients with technical solutions including MoBi methods. In his free time, Pedro practices Swimrun, hiking, and cycling.
